The late Brother Fred Moore presented a copy of this little book when I was ordained. He sat on my ordination council and I consider him to be one of my mentors. He rescued many churches that could not pay a pastor throughout the upper Midwest, got them back on their feet, and followed God's call to the next one. The late Brother Ray Forrester also read and recommended this little book to young men. The testimony of those two alone were enough for me.

This little book is a difficult read. Not because of the language used, but because of the conviction felt. While we do well to remember that Roy Hession did not (to my knowledge) consider himself a Baptist, many of the Biblical truths contained in this book resonate even to this day. Naturally, the author did not correctly understand church truth. However, this book does not much contemplate church membership - instead it deals almost exclusively with personal revival.

And personal revival is a concern for every Christian!

Please note: These sermon outlines originate with a series preached at a College & Career Conference and, as always, will be a little “raw” in form. I will make every attempt to (one day) remove all the “preaching fluff” and take them down to a one-page Sunday School Series.
